Dr. Sullivan claims Postmaster William Frye Tebbets is often publicly intoxicated. Sullivan made his statement to Lea Woodruff, a notary public of Mobile County, Alabama.

John C. Lynch states that he met William Frye Tebbetts early in the morning of May 25, 1904. Tebbetts mistook Lynch for an assailant. Lynch spoke to him but Tebbetts staggered away. Tebbetts has since claimed to have been attacked by a man with a knife. Lynch made his statement to Lea Woodruff, a Notary Public of Mobile County, Alabama.
