Letter from P. de Bearn et de Chalais to Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt.

Charge de Affaires de France advises Edith Roosevelt that the town of Saints is erecting a moment to deceased native sons, and American aviators, including Quentin Roosevelt. He writes that Quentin was held in highest esteem by inhabitants of Saints. Enclosed in this letter is a resolution by Municipal Council regarding a village square to be named “Place Roosevelt.”

Letter from Lillian Capron to Theodore Roosevelt

Lillian Capron, President of the Rough Riders’ National Monument Society, sends President Roosevelt a drawing of a proposed Rough Riders monument at Arlington National Cemetery; she asks Roosevelt for his blessing and assistance with the completion of this monument as he was the Colonel of the Rough Riders. Capron’s husband died in the Spanish American War and was a member of Roosevelt’s regiment.
