Roosevelt’s secretary asks Batchelder to please inform him of the schedule for Roosevelt’s visit, including what time he should leave New York City and what time he should arrive in White River Junction. As for his protection, the railway usually sends “a kind of secret service man” to guard Roosevelt.

Crawford is not sure if Theodore Roosevelt remembers him from his time as a member of Troop D of the Rough Riders, but will be attending the Vermont Get Together Dinner at White River Junction, Vermont on June 1, 1911 alongside Roosevelt. As Wallace Batchelder and Crawford are the only two Rough Riders in the state, he inquires if Roosevelt would be willing to visit the city of St. Albans to meet with them both.

Wallace Batchelder informs Frank Harper that he has received a request from the Associated Press for reporters and stenographers to attend a banquet at White River Junction on June 7th 1911, where Theodore Roosevelt will be speaking. The Associated Press wishes to have the speech transcribed and relayed to New York and Boston by telegraph. Batchelder describes his intent to meet Roosevelt along his trip to Vermont, and requests if he can bring Rowland B. Jacobs from the Associated Press with him.
