Letter from William Loeb to Mabel Smithers
William Loeb sends Mabel Smithers $200 on behalf of President Roosevelt for the Downing House, a project which Roosevelt is invested in. The money was given to Roosevelt by Louise Holmes Vanderbilt, but Loeb conceals her name from Smithers, calling her an “unknown friend.”
