Letter from Jacob A. Riis to Theodore Roosevelt
Dreamland Park and Rockaway Beach are on the market and the Parks and Playgrounds Association of the City of New York would like the city to purchase one of the properties. New York does not have a “seashore recreation park” and one is needed for the Convalescent Hospital and the Hospital for Bone Tuberculosis. Jacob A. Riis requests that Theodore Roosevelt join a citizens’ committee to investigate the potential sites.
