Letter from Stephen M. Morgan to Theodore Roosevelt
Reverend Morgan sends Theodore Roosevelt a clipping from The North American, and comments on Roosevelt’s public career. Morgan has read many of Roosevelt’s speeches, both from when Roosevelt was traveling in Europe, as well as while he was on the presidential campaign trail. He believes that Roosevelt has been chosen by God to lead the United States and support the interests of the people over those of the “godless, selfish money oligarchy” that currently dominates it.
