Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Thomas Jefferson Henderson

Thomas Jefferson Henderson, former Representative from Illinois and a Union Army officer in the Civil War, sent President Roosevelt a letter from former President Abraham Lincoln to Henderson’s father. Roosevelt thanks Henderson for the gift and reflects on the compromises he must have witnessed during his time in Congress.
