The persistent troubadour
Senator Jonathan Bourne sings outside President Roosevelt’s window: “O Theodore, O Theodore, we yearn for you for four years more!” Meanwhile, Roosevelt and William H. Taft smile as they read the newspaper: “Taft managers sweeping everything before them. Talk of nomination by acclamation.” In front of Bourne is Roosevelt’s bulldog, Pete, and behind Bourne is a police officer who says, “Move on! You’re disturbing the peace.”
