Theodore Roosevelt tells Granville Fortescue that he is glad Fortescue is going to South American to “preach the gospel of peace” to Peru and Chile. Roosevelt says he is in support of peace, but does not want to be hypocritical about it.

Robert A. Kirk informs Ralph H. Cameron he will travel to Washington D. C. on a secret trip for the Governor of Arizona. Kirk will be delivering returns and asks Cameron and Archibald Willingham Butt to collect him upon his arrival. Kirk confirms there is support for Theodore Roosevelt clubs in Arizona, but more support for President William H. Taft is needed. Kirk includes a postscript to Cameron asking for his help securing him a position.
Robert A. Kirk and Ralph H. Cameron were heavily involved in securing statehood for Arizona, which would occur on February 14, 1912.

The article discusses the importance of the Badlands experience for Theodore Roosevelt, gives a brief history of Medora, and lists the sites seen by the group. The article names the thirty-four members of the TRA who made the trip to North Dakota.

Greenway shares news of his travels, mentions political views including support for Taft’s veto of the Statehood Bill, and asks if Roosevelt received information about Jim Martin.

Ambassador Jusserand is happy to hear that Theodore Roosevelt has returned from his travels in Africa and South America, and hopes he will be able to visit soon. He has enclosed a letter for the customs office in France for Roosevelt’s trip to Spain, in case he wishes to make a stop and not get delayed. Jusserand and his wife send well wishes.

Lucius B. Swift is honored to be invited to come to Washington to speak with President Taft about conditions in Indiana, but unfortunately cannot afford the expense of traveling. He believes the population of Indiana support Taft’s determination to call a special session of Congress to ratify the Canadian treaty if necessary, and overall back Taft’s policies. Indiana Republicans as a whole are progressive, and Swift believes they will continue to hold power in the state organization, and that those Republicans opposing them will fall in line. Swift approves of Taft’s actions to remove postmasters from being political positions.
