Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to William H. Taft
President Roosevelt tells Secretary of War Taft that he believes that there should be a brigade post “within striking distance of the Welland canal,” and that “Fort Niagara is unquestionably to be kept,” and should therefore be enlarged. He asks for a report on the matter.
