Letter from Charles S. Francis to Theodore Roosevelt

Ambassador Francis reports to President Roosevelt on a recent visit he made to Budapest, and notes that he made a similar report, through William Loeb, following an earlier visit. He plans to go again in April or May, unless something should require his attention there earlier. He will also visit northern Hungary and perhaps Galicia in May or June.

Letter from A. R. Couden to the Navigation Bureau

Secretary of War Taft expects to leave Cuba for the United States on the USS Louisiana around October 14th. Admiral Couden believes it is no longer necessary for the battleships to remain after this date and requests instructions from the bureau. Couden also reports that Hannibal has sailed for Cienfuegos and the USS Kentucky and Prairie have arrived in Havana.
