Philip K. Mindil informs Theodore Roosevelt the film of his airplane flight will be shown at William J. Gane’s Manhattan Theatre. Gane invites Roosevelt and company to view the film at the theatre or elsewhere. Duplicate copies of the letter were sent to Sagamore Hill and Roosevelt’s office.

George J. Tansey informs Theodore Roosevelt that the invitation by the Traffic Club of St. Louis to visit was accepted on his behalf by Missouri Governor Herbert S. Hadley, and assures him that the members of the club are looking forward to having him as their guest. He is sure the details of the visit will meet with Roosevelt’s approval.

Ferdinand C. Bretsnyder, president of the Bell Oil Company, congratulates Theodore Roosevelt on the government’s victory against the Standard Oil Trust. Roosevelt and Missouri Governor Herbert S. Hadley deserve the credit. Bretsnyder hopes that Roosevelt will return to the White House after the next election.

President-Elect Taft thanks President Roosevelt for his support during the presidential campaign, and reflects on the results of the election and the implications of various results. In particular, strange ballot laws and the liquor question impacted the vote in different states. Taft believes that now his challenge is to prevent Representative Joseph Gurney Cannon from being elected Speaker of the House. He would like to meet with Roosevelt to discuss the plan to deal with Cannon, as well as how to fill the vacant Senate seat for New York.

Secretary of War Taft agrees with President Roosevelt on Senator Henry Cabot Lodge’s speech and on the negative press from the New York papers. He describes his trip thus far and makes predictions about his success based on what he has been told. In light of the gerrymandering involving Oklahoma Governor Charles Nathaniel Haskell, Taft asks Roosevelt to help defeat an inadequate constitution in Oklahoma. Taft has asked Joseph L. Bristow to form another report on Panama, and he mentions an editor named Joseph Ralph Burton who has been attacking Roosevelt. Taft discusses the political campaigns and conflicts in the states he is passing through, in particular the political campaigns in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Denver. Taft’s mother Louise Maria Torrey Taft is recovering, and although the trip has been exhausting, Taft has a few days of rest ahead.

Senator Dixon agrees with Governor Hadley that Theodore Roosevelt should contact Walter S. Dickey. Dickey has been instrumental in previous Republican campaigns and could be of great use.
