Letter from Charles Holland Duell to Theodore Roosevelt

Charles Holland Duell informs Theodore Roosevelt of a mistake published in The Outlook, where it is stated that George Rumsey Sheldon was the assistant treasurer of the National Republican Congressional Committee in 1904; however, Duell says that at that time he was the assistant treasurer. Duell also states that during his tenure, all the money was accounted for and that he hopes Roosevelt will be President again.

Letter from T. J. Bryant to Theodore Roosevelt

T. J. Bryant informs Theodore Roosevelt of an error published in his book, The Winning of the West, in which Roosevelt names Bryant’s station as “Bryan’s station.” Bryant states that his great-grandfather, William Bryant, founded the station and has no relation to the William Bryan who married into the Boone family.

Letter from Lyman Abbott to Theodore Roosevelt

Lyman Abbott informs President Roosevelt that in a recent copy of his Message, Roosevelt makes reference to several pages of the Congressional Record. Abbott points out that the pages in question are for April 28, not May 1, as referenced in the Message, and tactfully suggests that “possibly the printer of [Roosevelt’s] Message has made a blunder” which Roosevelt may wish to correct.
