Governor Hadley encourages Theodore Roosevelt to accept the speaking invitation from the Million Population Club of St. Louis, Missouri. Taft supporters are working hard to seat all of the contested Taft delegates in Missouri and Hadley expects another contested delegation from the fourteenth district.

Governor Hadley provides a tentative outline for Roosevelt’s visit to St. Louis, Missouri. The campaign is progressing well in Missouri and two more delegates were instructed for Roosevelt yesterday. Once again, President Taft supporters organized an opposing convention and appointed a contesting delegation.

Governor Hadley is opposed to Governor Stubbs’ suggestion of Theodore Roosevelt engaging in a general speaking campaign. He would like to see Roosevelt move away from campaigning on the issue of the recall of judges, and he suggests other issues that Roosevelt could campaign with, including the tariff, business regulation, direct presidential primaries, and the “question of World-Wide Peace.”

Senator Lodge has won his re-election campaign and is overwhelmed with letters and telegrams. Governor Foss and the Boston American are raising questions about the election because some Democrats supported Lodge. Lodge has been unable to find the time to review the Lorimer case.

C. Grant La Farge writes to President Roosevelt about the election of Mr. Moore to the Boone and Crockett Club. La Farge supports Moore but some in the club believe Moore’s nomination was aided by a letter from Roosevelt which was gained through political favors. La Farge asks for Roosevelt’s clarification on this issue.
