The Matinecock Lodge of Oyster Bay, New York, summons President Roosevelt to a business meeting where, among other things, elections will be held. The letter is signed by James Duthie, master of the lodge and reportedly a gardener of one of Roosevelt’s neighbors.

Chairman of the New York State Republican Committee Timothy Woodruff informs President Roosevelt of the political situation in New York regarding the nomination of state senate candidates and the gubernatorial campaign of Charles Evans Hughes. He lists the stops Hughes is making in his campaign speech circuit, and references the support Hughes has among Democratic labor union leaders, Catholic priests, and the Yiddish newspapers.

C. Grant La Farge writes to President Roosevelt about the election of Mr. Moore to the Boone and Crockett Club. La Farge supports Moore but some in the club believe Moore’s nomination was aided by a letter from Roosevelt which was gained through political favors. La Farge asks for Roosevelt’s clarification on this issue.
