Letter from Murdo Mackenzie to Theodore Roosevelt

Murdo Mackenzie reminds Theodore Roosevelt of the promise he made to him in the fall of 1910 regarding sending him a photograph. Mackenzie is only urgently requesting it now because he has arranged to leave the country for Brazil where he will manage a large cattle business. Should he receive it in time, Mackenzie vows to show Roosevelt’s photograph to the people overseas and share his story with them, and that when he returns in five years he hopes that Roosevelt will once again be president.
