Robinson believes his son intends to do his best, and he wants to give him every opportunity he can. Corinne Roosevelt Robinson has had a bad attack of asthma, so Douglas Robinson will not be able to visit tonight. He hopes to be able to visit the White House the following evening if Corinne is doing better.

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Edith Kermit Carow

Theodore Roosevelt had an asthma attack but has recovered. He explored a cave in the Albano area and has been playing soldiers with some Roman friends. Of the Roman sites, Roosevelt has seen the Colosseum and tombs along the Latin way. The Roosevelts are looking forward to returning home and leave for New York on May 15.

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Martha Bulloch Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt has returned from a hunting trip and had a pleasant two weeks. He learned how to manage snowshoes and found the northern woods beautiful. Roosevelt visited two lumber camps and was interested to see “a particularly unique type of life.” The hunting and trapping was also a success. Roosevelt will try and be more diligent with his letter writing.
