Theodore Roosevelt has signed and returned the books he received from James Carleton Young. His secretary is returning Young’s check as they did not pay anything for delivery on their end.

President Roosevelt does not think he can advise James Carleton Young other than to say that he does not understand why he will not leave his library in Minneapolis. Roosevelt wants the best libraries to be “diffused all over the country, just as much in the West as in the East.”
