Theodore Roosevelt approves of John C. Shaffer’s recommendation, except for the name. Roosevelt could not undertake the suggested work and thinks it would be inadvisable for him to do so.
John C. Shaffer recommended Theodore Roosevelt to represent the United States as a distinguished lecturer in Japan to speak on the topic of peace.
Theodore Roosevelt thinks the clippings are most interesting. Roosevelt also believes in the importance of preparedness against dangers from abroad.
