President Roosevelt thanks Governor Blanchard for the courtesy, but says that Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt has had to refuse offers of entertainment as she is just taking a family trip. The Roosevelts would like to see the Blanchards on board the Mayflower.

President Roosevelt is glad to know that Governor Blanchard of Louisiana is interested in the conservation of natural resources. He is sorry to hear that a meeting of the Legislature may prevent Blanchard from being present at the convention on the topic, and would change the date if there had not already been so many replies for the chosen date.
