Edward N. McDaniels expresses his opinion that the only man who can prevent Theodore Roosevelt from being nominated and elected as president is Roosevelt himself. McDaniels states that the country needs practical leaders with sound judgment and common sense to solve its problems and prevent chaos. He believes that if Roosevelt is named the Republican nominee, he will receive 85 percent of the African American votes, but if President William H. Taft is renominated, many of their votes will go to the Democratic Party and the Socialists.
