Warwick M. Hough, an attorney representing a Saccharin industry in St. Louis, asks the editor to reconsider the sugar substitute saccharin, citing the Remsen Board’s findings on its safety. Hough also makes arguments against false information presented by Dr. Wiley and the three secretaries named in the Food and Drug Act, prohibiting saccharin. Hough argues that there is no better substitute for sugar, which is necessary for the benefit of society against the unhealthy effects of sugar.
