Millard J. Bloomer thanks Theodore Roosevelt for his letter and informs Roosevelt about a meeting of the executive committee of the New York Citizens’ Peace Banquet in which they determined that the purpose of the banquet will be to rally support for a “world wide peace movement” and not to endorse the current treaties presented to the senate. Bloomer discussed Roosevelt’s letter with their mutual friend Emily Nelson Ritchie McLean and though Bloomer was not happy with the some of his associates, he has decided to stay with the committee because he gave his word to many prominent men. Bloomer tells Roosevelt that the committee voted Roosevelt to be the guest of honor and asks if he will oblige.
