John Avery McIlhenny hopes that Theodore Roosevelt might have the opportunity to visit his home at Avery Island during his trip through the South as he makes his way to Texas. He regrets that he will not be able to meet Roosevelt there, but he knows that the people in the area would heartily welcome Roosevelt and greatly appreciate the visit.
