Antoni Barthelet writes Frank Harper a rambling letter which includes lengthy text of letters he sent to both a friend and Mary Mallon (Typhoid Mary) about his ability to cure various illnesses. Barthelet believes he has been harmed by “lying” scientific interests. In his letter to Mallon, he claims he can cure her as soon as he has the money to travel to New York. Barthelet disapproves of Theodore Roosevelt’s safari in Africa.
