George Macaulay Trevelyan is grateful for President Roosevelt’s approval of his last volumes as well as the opportunity for a six-week holiday. During his travels throughout Europe, Trevelyan encountered a number of Americans, whom he mentions to Roosevelt, and remarks how hospitable they are.
