Ernest Thompson Seton states that he made a mistake asking President Roosevelt to revise a chapter from The Birch-Bark Roll of the Woodcraft Indians rather than approving the whole book. Seton was nervous about asking too much of Roosevelt. He hopes that Roosevelt will eventually feel that he can give his support to the entire book and notes that many independent camps and sportsmen’s clubs have accepted the book as a standard for those who enjoy the outdoors.
