Charles William Fulton, Senator and Chairman of the Committee on Claims, writes to C. F. Pearson regarding the salary and expenses of the presidential office. Fulton believes President Roosevelt’s salary is appropriate but would not be opposed to a raise. However, he does not believe that the government should fund private travel sources and that the president should travel “like any private citizen.”
