President Roosevelt issues a proclamation setting aside lands containing the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River as a National Monument using the Antiquities Act of 1906. The Proclamation includes a map showing the overlap of the Grand Canyon National Monument and Grand Canyon National Forest, which will coexist.
