President William Howard Taft turns in vain to a number of politicians for advice. The politicians all make excuses and pass Taft on to the next person . Ray makes reference to the Pinchot-Ballinger controversy and the investigation of Harvey Washington Wiley. Ray closes by announcing these controversies and political figures have cleared the way for Robert M. La Follette, a progressive, to be president.
