Alexander III is accompanied by a diminutive Sadi Carnot labeled “France” who is shaking his fist across the pathway at a diminutive Umberto I, labeled “Italy,” who in turn shakes his fist, and a diminutive Franz Joseph I, labeled “Austria,” who accompany William II.
