Theodore Roosevelt tells Chase S. Osborn that he feels the time is coming when he can no longer be silent when it comes to the prospect of his nomination for president as he has received several more letters from governors echoing the same points as Osborn. Roosevelt tells Osborn he has written back to each of them stating that while he does not seek the nomination, if it comes from a ground swell of public support he would feel honor bound to accept. Roosevelt asks Osborn to write to Hiram Johnson in California if he likes what Roosevelt has written.
