Theodore Roosevelt asks James Rudolph Garfield to give Nathaniel C. Wright some information without making it known that it came from Roosevelt. Roosevelt says he heard that Walter F. Brown, on behalf of Daniel Rhodes Hanna, proposed to Charles Dewey that Hanna would support William Howard Taft if Taft dropped the indictment against Hanna. Roosevelt does not believe it and does not want it public.
