Theodore Roosevelt is disappointed that the part of his speech regarding the appropriation of public funds for sectarian schools was omitted from The Columbiad. Roosevelt thinks it is bad to let the impression go out that he is afraid to speak his mind on the matter. Roosevelt would like a public record made that this part of his speech was delivered and applauded.
