President Roosevelt shares several communications he has had with Augustus Peabody Gardner regarding efforts being made on behalf of William H. Taft’s nomination for the presidency. Roosevelt believes the resolution Gardner wished to introduce would harm both Senator Lodge and Taft, and he has advised against it.
