President Roosevelt tells Dean Hurlbut of Harvard College he thinks the editor of the Independent displayed “grosely improper conduct” concerning his son Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt does nothing concerning the offending editorial, but has turned the author’s brother away from a ministership in Venezuela.
