President Roosevelt tells Alban B. Butler that his letter is “very strong indeed,” and that he has asked Secretary of the Interior Ethan Allen Hitchcock to forward a letter to Butler. Roosevelt does not feel that he knows enough about the issue to speak with Butler at this moment, but will ask Butler to come speak with him in the future.
