According to Theodore Roosevelt, the Evening Post is showing more than its usual amount of hypocrisy in regards to African Americans. The Evening Post is attacking Roosevelt, even though they pledged their support in the presence of John Hay. Roosevelt did not believe them at the time. Roosevelt would like to go over the issues of the press with Washington.
