John A. Sleicher encloses a letter from a contributor who will be sending dispatches from South America, which he thinks will interest President Roosevelt as it gives insight into the reception that Mr. Calhoun is receiving. Sleicher also sends a copy of an upcoming editorial he plans to publish. He comments on a suggestion in the Evening Post that Roosevelt might run again in 1912, and hints at another opportunity in the immediate future which he thinks would please Roosevelt. He will look for an occasion to discuss it with Roosevelt privately. In a postscript, Sleicher encloses another letter, this from the editor of a leading Methodist paper in Ohio. He fears the situation in Ohio is “ominous.”

He stresses the importance of campaigning hard in the final months before the election.
