Letter from Alexander Lambert to Theodore Roosevelt

Alexander Lambert writes to President Roosevelt about various subjects. Lambert inquires whether he should fix Roosevelt’s damaged rifle and talks about a medical article he is writing. Lambert discusses the concerns of several physicians about Congress’s failure to pass the act concerning “food and drug adulterations.” Harvey Washington Wiley, the Agricultural Department’s chief chemist, aggressively supported the act, but Lambert thinks Roosevelt’s involvement is important for the bill to pass.

Letter from Alexander Lambert to Theodore Roosevelt

Alexander Lambert thinks President Roosevelt’s articles are very interesting. He has added a few ideas and made some small corrections, but he encourages Roosevelt to rewrite the insertions in his own style, if he thinks them worthwhile. Lambert showed his pictures to Robert Bridges and Edward Burlingame, but they will not finalize their choice of picture until they have the text of the articles from Roosevelt.

Letter from Alexander Lambert to Theodore Roosevelt

Letter from Alexander Lambert to Theodore Roosevelt

Dr. Lambert forwards to President Roosevelt a letter from Dr. William Crawford Gorgas which might interest him. Lambert notes that Anna Roosevelt Cowles saw his wolf pictures and spoke to Whitelaw Reid about them. Reid is anxious to show them to King Edward and the Prince of Wales. Lambert has not seen his own bear pictures yet, which were less successful, but will have them some day this week. He asks if Roosevelt, when he comes to Brooklyn, would like Lambert to meet him somewhere and bring some of his bear hunt pictures.
