Letter from Luther Burbank to Edgar Chambless

Luther Burbank would be pleased to help support the plan laid out in Edgar Chambless’s book Roadtown, and promises to try to make time in his schedule to speak with a newspaperman on the topic. He tentatively gives permission for his previous letter to Chambless to be used, but expresses some reservations about having written the letter in a hurry. Burbank would be pleased to be a member of an advisory board, but laments that he only has 24 hours in a day.

Letter from Luther Burbank to Edgar Chambless

Although Luther Burbank does not have much time to read, he was able to read all of Edgar Chambless’s book Roadtown. He feels that it contains a very interesting proposition, and that it will solve “a hundred perplexing problems which are agitating the people at the present time.”

Letter from Luther Burbank to C. Wilfred Bourne

Luther Burbank regrets that he cannot give Major Bourne a more thorough opinion of his home beyond this letter. He found Bourne’s home well-run and his children happily engaged in work on the farm.
