Letter from E. Montagu White to Frederick Courteney Selous
E. Montagu White met with Governor Roosevelt and found him to be sympathetic to the Boers. However, Roosevelt did not think he would have an opportunity to assist those who are working for peace and conciliation. White thinks that American public opinion is overwhelmingly on the side of the republics. White does not regret having come to the United States but is finding it difficult to imagine a committee that would bring pressure on the administration to work for peace.
