TR Center staff attend Presidential Sites and Libraries Conference

6/25/2010

Sharon Kilzer, project manager, and Joseph Jones, research historian, attended the quadrennial gathering of representatives from presidential sites and libraries held in Charlottesville, Virginia, from June 21 to 23. Coordinated by the American Association for State and Local History, this conference afforded opportunities to learn about other projects and their approach to digitization of presidential documents and artifacts.

Following the conference, Kilzer and Jones were joined by staff members Grant Carlson and Krystal Thomas for a full-day site visit to the Thomas Jefferson Library. The staff also took the opportunity to visit Pine Knot, the Roosevelts' rustic cabin in southern Albemarle County, which afforded a place of retreat during the years of TR's presidency.
