Harvard proposes to digitize materials written by TR himself

10/30/2009

In a recent letter to DSU President Richard McCallum, Dr. William Stoneman, Librarian of Harvard's Houghton Library, proposed a pilot project to digitize "every item in the collection written by TR himself." These items are estimated to comprise 15,000 manuscript pages - letters, diaries, speeches, notes, and drafts of publications composed by TR. Digitization of the materials will begin as early as next spring, for incorporation into the Theodore Roosevelt Digital Library at www.theodorerooseveltcenter.com.
