Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Theodore Roosevelt and Martha Bulloch Roosevelt

Description:

Theodore Roosevelt provides a detailed description of one day of college life, particularly last Monday. There is a lot of class and studying but also boxing, dinner with the Tudors, and a window broken by a baseball. Roosevelt has been going out a lot but will focus on his examinations in a few weeks. He plans on collecting bird specimens in the spring and will be traveling to the Adirondacks with H. D. Minot. He requests that his gun and collecting supplies be sent. Roosevelt has been enjoying his Sunday school class and his library has been the "greatest possible pleasure."

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Anna Roosevelt

Description:

Theodore Roosevelt writes to his sister Anna to report the $100 arrived safely. He notes that he passed his German exam and updates her on his social activities. He asks her and some friends and family to come up and visit for a few days. Roosevelt specifically says to make "Maude and Edith come." When the semester is over, he is heading straight to the Adirondacks.

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to George Bird Grinnell

Description:

Theodore Roosevelt found the March 10 issue of George Bird Grinnell's Forest and Stream being circulated by the men from the lumber and cold storage lobby who are trying to defeat Roosevelt's nominee for the Forest, Fish, and Game Commission. Roosevelt's nominations for the Commission all had political backing, and he is facing challenges in getting them confirmed. Roosevelt chose the men he did because his "business was to improve the Commission."

Vice President Roosevelt informs William H. Baldwin Jr., that his wife is still at the hospital with his children. After she left the hospital she would go to the Adirondacks. He asks that Mrs. Baldwin would accept an invitation to dinner from Roosevelt instead of his wife and asks if Baldwin and his wife would come to dinner on September 18?

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Charles G. Dawes

Description:

Vice President Roosevelt thanks Charles Dawes for his letter. His children were both hospitalized and that Mrs. Roosevelt would soon take them to the Adirondack mountains and he might visit them. He hopes to see Dawes after his return from the mountains.
