Postcard celebrating the new yacht of German Emperor William II. A black and white illustration of the yacht occupies the main body of the card surrounded by portraits of the Emperor, Prince Heinrich of Prussia, Alice Roosevelt, and President Roosevelt. In the top left corner is the coat of arms of the Emperor, and in the top right corner is the Great Seal of the United States. At the bottom of the postcard, Louise B. writes an affectionate note.

Description:

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to John Hay

Description:

If convenient, President Roosevelt will stop by Secretary John Hay's house after church to discuss the Prince Henry business.  Roosevelt is hesitant to give permission for his daughter, Alice Roosevelt, to give a short speech after christening Emperor Wilhelm's yacht.

Description:

Description:

On behalf of the Woche, a German weekly, Hugo Münsterberg asks President Roosevelt to provide a brief comment concerning Prince Heinrich of Prussia's upcoming visit to the United States. Münsterberg offers to act as an intermediary if Roosevelt feels that directly contributing to a German weekly is below presidential dignity.

Letter from Nicholas Murray Butler to Theodore Roosevelt

Description:

Nicholas Murray Butler, President of Columbia University, notifies President Roosevelt that Myron T. Herrick will be visiting the White House and plans to decline being appointed Minister to Italy. Butler suggests Roosevelt make it known to Herrick that he does not take this declination personally as Herrick will be a useful Ohio supporter.  Butler also suggests that James Speyer be invited to Prince Heinrich of Prussia's state dinner. Speyer has considerable influence and is familiar to Prince Heinrich.

Jacob A. Riis asks President Roosevelt to somehow recognize German immigrant Arthur von Briesen, who is feeling slighted because he is not a member of the reception committee for Prince Heinrich of Prussia.  Riis encourages Roosevelt by adding that as he travels the Midwest, he is finding considerable support for Roosevelt.
