Drawing of the house and grounds of Sagamore Hill

Description:

On one side is a pencil sketch of the size and shape of the Sagamore Hill House, drawn by Theodore Roosevelt. On the opposite side Roosevelt sketched the estate grounds, labeling various areas (fields, orchards, etc.).

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Theodore Roosevelt

Description:

Theodore Roosevelt writes from his trip with Mother to Medora, North Dakota. He draws pictures to go with the text and says someone will read the letter to Ted. He writes about riding and roping horses as well as seeing deer and chickens.

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Anna Roosevelt

Description:

Theodore Roosevelt writes to his sister Anna Roosevelt about receiving her letters and her presentation to the Queen Victoria of England. He encloses pictures drawn by both he, Cecil Spring-Rice and Ted depicting her presentation at Court. Roosevelt shares Anna's letters with the Cabot Lodges. Cecil Spring-Rice is depressed lately.

Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Ethel Roosevelt

Description:

As they may disembark that night, Theodore Roosevelt writes a quick note from off the coast of Santiago, Cuba, to tell his three children that he loves them. Included with the letter is a sketch of a dog labeled "Cuba" and signed by "Pollock," whom Roosevelt describes as "the Pawnee Indian." The dog in the sketch, Roosevelt says, runs everywhere around the ship and howls sometimes when the band plays.
