U.S. Senator Byron Dorgan visited the Theodore Roosevelt Center on August 19 to celebrate the completion of the digitization of 250,000 documents held at the Library of Congress. Senator Dorgan was instrumental in securing the funding to make the digitization of the Theodore Roosevelt Collection possible. Dorgan was joined by Dr. James Hutson, chief of the manuscripts division of the Library of Congress, to celebrate this milestone in the development of the Theodore Roosevelt Digital Library.
Also participating in the event was North Dakota Lieutenant Governor Jack Dalrymple, representing the support provided by the North Dakota Legislature for the project. The Lieutenant Governor discussed the status of state funding for the upcoming expansion of Stoxen Library, which houses the Center.
