Cataloging processes continue at the Theodore Roosevelt Center. Staff members are making progress on cataloging items related to the first term of President Roosevelt's presidency. Interns also continue to work this month. They are cataloging items in the Inaugural Site Collection and focusing on copyright in the Library of Congress Manuscript Collection. One intern is scanning and creating metadata for TR related items at the Arizona Historical Society in Tucson. Copyright review continues on items that TR himself wrote, providing good material for our Quote of the Day.
This month items from the Newberry Library Collection were published. Items from the Margaret Sanger Papers Project were also received. An initial research trip to the Indiana Historical Society will be completed at the end of July.
As of the end of June 2015, we have 48,321 items cataloged. Of this number, 36,202 items have been reviewed for accuracy and completeness, and 31,409 have gone through copyright review. There are now 29,242 items available for use in the Theodore Roosevelt Digital Library.
