Digitization Update: February 2013

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

We made great progress on original cataloging in the month of February. Many items in the Harvard College Library collection and the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site collection were cataloged in February. Look for these items to publish in the next month.

As of March 1, 25,656 items have gone through metadata review, and 19,814 of those items have subsequently made it through copyright review. We passed the 18,000 mark in our digital library during February, a number which increases every week as more items are published.

Our volunteers continue to work on the cataloging of new items within the Library of Congress Manuscript collection, focusing mainly on TR’s presidency.

Cataloging is progressing well in the Harvard College Library collection as well as the collections from the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace and Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic sites. Our staff are also focusing on metadata and copyright review of materials in the Library of Congress Manuscript collection. Look for new items in this collection each week, many of which are letters written by Theodore Roosevelt himself.
